Hello 2022 and welcome to my first post of the new year. I decided to sit down and reflect on some of the moments throughout 2021. Although we had some kind of normality throughout the year, it still felt like the aftermath of 2020 was still hanging over us all. Saying that 2021 was completely different in the way we did things. Looking forward to the coming year, it still feels very unpredictable and the pressure of all the what ifs…
We have been waiting weeks for a forecast of snow. We watched other parts of the UK become blanketed in the white stuff and we sort of gave up hope of the South East ever getting any. That was until last week when the weatherman forecast a full 5 days of snow. Because of lockdown, heading out to the shops for a sledge wouldn’t exactly be acceptable and classed as “essential shopping”. I mentioned to James how disappointing it would…
Where to start? In September Gracie headed into year six with such excitement. So much to look forward to and so much to gain. And then COVID happened and before we knew it the schooling system had changed dramatically. We as parents were the ones teaching and we had to prepare for them for the inevitable, that their end of year will be hugely different to previous. No production, no residential, no year 6 transition to senior school, no celebration.…

I watched those videos back that I created and I actually loved looking back on them. So I have decided to maybe start again and try every month to create a little video of snapshots of our life. I really tried to do that 1…
I didn’t think I would ever write a blog post sharing my experiences with being in lockdown. It really is a strange time and one we have all had to adjust to pretty quickly. We are now heading into week seven, and although I find it quite astonishing we are at that stage already, the last six weeks have been tough. At the start of lockdown, I was still heading out weekly to do the shopping. Every Saturday for the…
You couldn’t ask for a better weekend. A four day bank holiday and sunny days. This weekend was pretty wonderful. The UK broke records for its weather over an Easter weekend and we definitely made the most of it. We had a mini Easter egg hunt at home, which both Gracie and Henry really enjoyed. We now have enough chocolate to last us a fair few months! It’s been a few days of relaxing, sorting the garden and spending time with family.…
