little loves 2019 | july edition

It’s the end of the month and Its Fri-yay, which means a Little Loves round up. Lets just start with, where the hell did July go? I mean, I even needed a prompt to say I had not posted a little loves post! (Thanks for the reminder Rachel!)

This month has been a whirlwind, I say it every month, but July doesn’t even feel like it should be over! I only feel like it was the start of it last week! Anyone else feel the same? Its been busy, end of term, work, juggling everything known to man and generally forgetting to blog. I wrote this post last week, the first one in ages and it felt good to spend time to blog again.

Without too much waffling, here is my Little Loves for the month of June.

Watched

Big Little Lies (Sky Atlantic) – This season had me hooked from the beginning and has left me wanting a third season. Loved the first and season 2 didn’t disappoint. I am hoping and praying a third is on the pipeline, but I am not going to get my hopes up as I’ve been reading online and it doesn’t look like its in the plans, yet… Have you watched it? What did you think?

Love Island (ITV2) – Oh the drama! It was pretty intense this month in the villa. Cannot quite believe some actions from some of the islanders (well, actually I can!) Its trashy TV and unfortunately something that has us all hooked! I won’t know what to do with myself once it finishes. I have heard a rumour that a winter version may hit our screens, which would fill that January blues hole!

Greys Anatomy (Sky) Ok, if you have followed me for a while (on my previous blog) you will know I am a HUGE Greys Anatomy fan. Little Loves introduced me to it and once I started watching it I was hooked. I have recently started watching them from the beginning and it reminds me that the show can do no wrong. Its definitely binge worthy TV at its best.

I also saw this trailer this month.. **swoon**

Heard

Top Gun Soundtrack – Because of the above trailer, I have been listening to the original soundtrack of Top Gun. One of my favourites. The Top Gun Theme, gets me every time and its sounds pretty damn good on the new trailer.

Sia feat David Guetta –  Titanium has been playing quite a bit this month. I love Sia, don’t think there is a song that she has done or featured in that I don’t like. She is just brilliant.

Have You Ever Seen The Rain – After watching the finale of Big Little Lies, I have this song playing in my head for days. Quick search on google led me to Youtube. Its a really lovely calm song. Not my normal genre, but I like it all the same.

Castles – Freya Riding is just brilliant. Love her new song Castle, definitely one to have turned up in the car!

Wore

New Earrings – I did something complete off the cuff at the beginning of the month. I’ve wanted to get my second ear piercing done for ages now, so as it was my birthday I went and got it done. I went for something different and instead of doing the standard second stage on the ear, I skipped it and went for the third hole instead. I am so glad I did as I love it.

Pretty Skirts – I posted this picture on Instagram this month and got so many lovely comments about it. I bought the skirt from Next last month. I had been eyeing it up for a while and thought it would be ideal for work. It’s really lovely and the print is gorgeous. It has has a lot of wear out over the past month with all this hot weather!

New Watch – As mentioned previously, this month was my birthday and I treated myself to a new Apple Watch. I previously had the first generation and I could really notice the change. It had slowed right down and wasn’t really working as well as it should. So I upgraded to the newest version. I love it, so much betters and there are lots of new features I was unable to get on my old one. Definitely an expense, but one I don’t mind paying for.

Salt Walter Sandals –  Another cheeky purchase this month, was my Rose Gold Saltwater Sandals. They have not left my feet. So comfy. I thought all the hype about them was a bit over rated, but honestly, they are the best sandal. I went for the slide sandal, they go with everything. A bit pricey, so I looked around, and ended up buying them from a little shop in Cornwall. Postage was free which was brilliant as the Salt Water site wanted to charge an arm and a leg!

Made

I didn’t make this, the husband bought it. What to cake to buy a flamingo obsessed mama like me? I didn’t want to cut it! It was really tasty. I don’t normally like shop bought cakes, but this was lovely.

And lastly

4 years ago I found what I thought was a spot. It didn’t overly concern me but after a few weeks and a push from James I booked myself into the doctors. That doctor was a bit batty and I thought she was being cautious and over reacting. I was urgently referred with a two week wait for a removal. We went on holiday and I forgot all about it. When I got home I was booked in for a minor operation. All was good. Less than week later I was called in and told those 2 words everyone does not want to hear “its cancer” Summer in my eyes was ruined. I mean, who wants to live a life shielding from the sun?! I didn’t ever think I would ever get my head round it.

Fast forward four years, and many operations later and constant hospital visits I am going into my final year of checks. MY FINAL YEAR! I actually didn’t think this day would ever come. I’ve adjusted my life massively. Everything is good, no changes.

I’m happy, healthy (not loving this weather too much) but I couldn’t ask for anything better from my appointment this week. Elated!

I am looking forward to seeing you all link up! Have a wonderful month ahead.

Firstly can I just say I love the skirt and the Apple Watch (drools). Secondly, Freya rocks – we are seeing her in Manchester in November and I can’t wait! Finally – congrats on the all clear, I too have spent years in T-shirt’s in pools due to mole removal and this year I was given the all clear a year following surgery for something else (be sure to stay clear and ensure you have your smear – what a motto!)

So time to celebrate and to enjoy summer right ? Happy summer!!!
