little loves 2019 | september

Hello Autumn and hello a new little loves round-up!

September has been a busy busy month. I feel like we are just settling back into the school/work routine again. I’m finding myself counting down the weeks till half term as this month seems to have completely shattered us all.

Without too much waffling, here is my Little Loves for the month of August

Read

This month has seen me reading school prospectus! I cannot believe its come to this. It feels like yesterday I was looking round schools for her to start! I have a good feeling about a few though so here is hoping all that reading up has me prepared!

Ive not picked up my book this month! I need to get back in to the habit of picking one up of an evening again.

Watched

The Capture (BBC) – This has had me hooked from day one. I look forward to each week so I can see what twist and turns going to happen next. After being acquitted of a war crime in Afghanistan, former United Kingdom Special ForcesLance Corporal Shaun Emery finds himself accused of the kidnapping and murder of his barrister Hannah Roberts, backed by damning CCTV evidence. Whilst Emery works to clear his name, fast-trackedDetective Inspector Rachel Carey of Homicide and Serious Crime Command begins to uncover a complex conspiracy surrounding Emery, calling into question the validity of the footage.

Unbelievable (Netflix) – Another program that had me hooked. Think I managed all eight episodes in the space of 48 hours. Honestly, if you have not watched this I would highly recommend! Based on the true story of Marie, a teenager who was charged with lying about having been raped, and the two female detectives who followed the path to the truth.

The Loudest Voice – (Sky Atlantic) – I am currently half way through watching this. I couldn’t actually believe it was Russell Crowe to begin with! Its a Seven-part limited series about Roger Ailes, the founder of Fox News. It focuses on the past decade which Ailes arguably became the Republican Party’s de facto leader, and the sexual harassment accusations that brought his career to an end.

Heard

Amy Wadge – Ever since I watched Keeping Faith last month I have been listening to the soundtrack non-stop. Amy wrote all the songs especially fro the Keeping Faith series and they are all beautifully written. If you have not heard or even watched the BBC series I would really recommend it.

Miley Cyrus – Slide away is one of my favourite songs at the moment. This girl is pretty brilliant when it comes to song writing and its a song I’ve been playing non-stop all month.

Wore

Boots – The sandals have well and truly been put back to the back of the wardrobe and the Chelsea boots have made a very not so happy return. Im not a fan of my feet being inclosed so the last few weeks have been strange having the toes hidden away!

Waterproofs – This past week has been horrendous weather wise. Its rained on every single school run, which means the waterproof jacket has made an appearance. It always rains just in time for that dreaded school pick up!

Jumpers – Along with the rain, the cooler weather has arrived and I have been wrapping up in my favourite jumpers. I love Autumn, I like that its jumper weather, but not quite coat weather (unless it rains of course!)

Made

Chicken Tikka – This month I decided to make my own chicken tikka. Its taken some practise and a few different amendments but I think I have managed to master it. Its one of my favourite meals and its much cheaper than using a jar sauce!

Holiday Plans – We made a bold decision to book Disneyland Paris for next year. I have been wanting to go for years and now I am working, it’s possible. I am so excited and already researching all the must-do things to do. Gracie and Henry are over the moon and counting down the days already! Very exciting!!

And lastly

This month saw me achieve something I had been training months for. I just want to briefly touch on it because I think it needs a whole post dedicated to it. I walked 26.2 miles through the night for Cancer Research and made a huge amount of money along the way. I am so proud of myself for achieving it and its a huge huge highlight of September. One I will never ever forget.

I am looking forward to seeing you all link up! Have a wonderful month ahead.

I really wish March would just hurry up already so we can find out where our little ones are heading off to for high school. Good luck with it all!

We’ve had the most horrendous weather here as well recently – not happy! Thank you for reminding me about Unbelievable – a series that I had started watching last week and then forgot all about it! Now that A Confession has finished, I’m going back to that. Thanks for hosting, have just linked up – better late than never! xx

So it begins. It felt like yesterday I was viewing primary schools for Gracie. How an earth has it come...
