Hello and welcome back to a new little loves round-up!

The last little loves of 2020! What a year! and what a month! It feels like December started months ago, but it was only 31 days ago. We headed into December with lots of optimism and excitement. But that was soon squashed 6 days before Christmas when we were plummeted into tier 4. I was expecting it, but to hear it was a bit of a let down. All the plants we had been hanging onto for the past few weeks was taken away in a 20 minute press conference. We all had to adjust to a very different Christmas, but truthfully, I really enjoyed it and it certainly won’t be one we will forget.

Without too much waffling, here is my Little Loves for December

As December has come to a close, I have bene reading lots of information from the schools both Gracie and Henry attend. As we live in one of the highest affected areas, both schools will close for the first two weeks. I am really not looking forward to homeschooling again. I found it hugely stressful and put far to much pressure on me and the children. Lots of information has already filtered through to emails. So I am hoping it will be a lot better than the first lockdown!

Virgin River (Netflix) – I love this program, Its an American romantic drama , based on the Virgin River novels by Robyn Carr. Seeking a fresh start, a nurse practitioner moves from Los Angeles to a remote Northern California town and is surprised by what — and who — she finds.

Keeping up with the Kardashians – Whilst working from home I have been making my way through the seasons. Its an easy watch and some background noise. I am steaming through them and although I find them all (bar Khloe) extremely annoying, I have to admit, its my new guilty pleasure!

Christmas Movies – December isn’t December without a few Christmas films thrown in.

Christmas Pyjamas – I spent quite a lot of the past week in my Christmas pyjamas. Having nowhere to go meant some days you could just lounge around in your pjs! Bliss

Christmas Jumpers – I also spent quite a few days in my Christmas jumper. You can’t not get through the month without wearing it at least once!

New Coat – I gave in and bought a new coat. I was in desperate need for one. I ended up wanting a similar one to the one I already had but the design had changed and it was slightly longer which wasn’t very flattering. So I went for a short coat, with lots of fun inside to keep me warm. I threw in a new hat and scarf as well.

Boots – For Christmas I got some new boots. I had been eyeing up some Joules boots for quite sometime and I asked my mum if she would get me some. She delivered and I couldn’t be happier. They are so lovely and I cannot wait to wear them! Tier four and schools shutting have put a stop to that though! I won’t be heading out anytime soon!

If you follow me on instagram you will know I have been listening to the new Taylor Swift album Evermore on repeat. She dropped and album a few months ago, Folklore and its my most favourite album of 2020. Then out the blue, the sister album was released and oh, my. Its just beautiful. Both albums have been playing a lot. Champagne Problems (No2 on Evermore) is beautiful.

I made the Christmas dinner! As soon as we found out that we would be home for Christmas dinner back in November I started to prep. I wanted it to be special, so I ordered table decorations, new placemats ad some special features. I wanted it to be different to the bog standard roast. I’m lucky I never have to cook the Christmas dinner, its normally my mum or James parents, so this was a little overwhelming!

It went well though, and I would say it was one of the best “glorified” roast dinners I have cooked. I don’t eat Turkey so I opted for beef. Was delicious. We also decided on three courses, I made my own (TGI Fridays inspired) potato skins, which were so good and then dessert was chocolate pudding or Christmas pud! As we were at home we could both have a tipple. All in all a really lovely day!

This weekend we are de-christmassing the house. I love having the decorations up but there comes a time when they just need to come down. Cant quite believe we are in 2021! I really hope whatever you did, you did safely, and you all had a wonderful Christmas and new year! Hopefully 2021 will be alot better than 2020! Happy New Year!
