LIFESTYLE LITTLE LOVES

Little Loves 2020 | July Edition

July 31, 2020

Hello and welcome back to a new little loves round-up!

What a month, its been pretty hectic. Last final weeks of school and juggling the first few weeks of summer! It feels strange to not be homeschooling. A relief if I am honest. It was hard to spin all the plates, so I am thankful for the holidays!

July was busy. Gracie finished her final last weeks at junior school, which was quite emotional. Such strange times and although they were allowed to have a leavers get together, it felt strange the way it all ended. Gracie heads to senior school on her own. One boy from her class joins her and I am pretty thankful that she is starting fresh!

Without too much waffling, here is my Little Loves for June

Read

I am reading a book  (yes you read that right!!) I have not picked up a book in what feels like forever. James bought me a whole load of books for my birthday this month that have been on my wish list. Currently I am ploughing through Normal People. I loved the TV series and I am loving the book just as much.

Watched

Reality TV (Netflix) – I fell down a huge Netflix hole throughout the month of July. Netflix aired the first two season of Keeping up with the Kardashians, so I steamed through those. I also binged watched Selling Sunset, which again I binged watched over a few days!

The Secrets She Keeps (BBC) – This was just brilliant. I think I watched this in the space of a day. James was working and I just had a day in front of the TV.  I predicted what was going to happen with the first episode but I still really enjoyed it. Would recommend if you have not seen it already. Its currently still on iPlayer.

Wore

Jersey Tees –  I bought some new tops this month. I am quite conscious of my upper arms. Never happy with them so I bought some tops that cover them. I am now happy! Just simple tees to get me through the summer.

Ugg Slippers – I turned 36 this month (god that feels strange typing it!) I got some money from family so I treated myself to some rather lovely pink ugg slippers. I would never have just bought them normally as its a bit extravagant for a pair of slippers!  They are so comfy and they have been permanently glued to my feet since they arrived!

Pandora – My lovely sister bought me the most gorgeous Rose Gold Pandora ring for my birthday. It’s so lovely and I get so many comments. Definitely a special piece of jewellery.

Heard

Folklore – This past week I have listened to the new Taylor Swift album, Folklore. Its been on repeat since I purchased it. Its such a beautifully written album and lyrically its just amazing. She is such a talented women. Would definitely recommend you going over to YouTube to have a listen!

Made

Birthday Cake – Gracie made me a birthday cake (with very little help from dad!) She did it all and it was so nice! Was really moist and she nailed the brief! I mentioned I wanted a gateau style cake and she produced the most gorgeous chocolate cake with fruit on. Definitely has a hidden talent!

Lastly

Today we were supposed to be heading off to Center Parcs with the whole family. We decided to postpone because we wanted to get the best out of it. We would of been there for 7 days and there are still quite a lot of limitations on what you can do. Especially swimming which is the only free activity to do and where we spend quite a lot of our time with the children. As upsetting it is we won’t be going its definitely the right choice for us.

I am off now for a week so lots of days out are on the agenda! Have you had to cancel a holiday? or have you decided to still go?

Fancy joining in?

Thankfully we didn’t book a holiday this year, not with all that was going on at least… I hope one day in the future to fly somewhere hot again but it won’t be until things are safe.
I too loved watching Normal People but haven’t read the book as of yet, maybe I should? So nice to see your cheery post – love reading your #LittleLoves.
