Hello and welcome back to a new little loves round-up!

Wow, how are we in June already! 6 months down and 4 months of those have been in lockdown. We are finishing June with news of lockdown easing and things starting to return to some kind of normal.

June has been pretty busy. I returned to the office for a few days. Gracie headed back to school and Henry turned 9!

Without too much waffling, here is my Little Loves for the month of June.

I have put so many books on my wish list. Its my birthday next weekend so I am hoping the hints have sunk in and I managed to get some of the ones I have added to my list. I miss getting lost in a book. Any recommendations would be great, because you can never have too many books on a wish list!

White Lines (Netflix) – I struggled with the first few episodes of this, but then it got interesting and actually I really enjoyed it. I was a bit confused as to whether it should be a comedy or not because it occasionally felt like it should be. Its currently on the Top 10 list on Netflix. If its your cup of tea, I would recommend watching.

Little Fires Everywhere (Prime) – This was just brilliant. I was pretty sad that I couldn’t get on with the book last year, so I was eager to watch this. I loved it and its made me want to try and read the book again. A lot of looking back scenes but it all tied in and was a really really good watch. Didnt actually want it to finish. The ending was a little meh, so hoping they come back with a second season. Potentially they can as I think there is a lot more to explore.

This Is Us (Prime) – I have just started this, and already I am loving it. I love the way it goes back in time and explores the past. Ill admit the first episode confused me but once I was over that it all fell into place!

It’s been a funny ole month weather wise. One week I am in jeans and a jumper and the next I am in summer tops and shorts! This last week has seen us in a mini heatwave and its been hot! So shorts, skirts, sandals have been on. I am sure next week no doubt I’ll be back in the jeans!

Drive Way Re-Openings – So after 3 months of not having a McDonald’s you can imagine my delight when our local driveway opened. I am 100% ashamed to admit we did queue. It really was not nice either. Its funny how you think you miss something and then its really disappointing when you have it and doesn’t taste how you remember! We did drive past another one recently and there was no queue so we ended up getting another one and it tasted 100 times better!

School Transitions – We have heard that the school Gracie will be attending in September will be putting on a small transition where we get to meet her new teacher and a group of children who will be in the same tutor group. I am so glad we are able to do this face-to-face as its such an uncertain time for them all.

Birthday Cake – With Henry turning 9 this month, it was only right to make him a cake. He is obsessed with Sloths. Not entirely sure why or where it came from. I was never going to attempt an actual sloth cake, but the one I did make was a huge hit! Didnt last long!

Ladder Shelves – We managed to build ourself a ladder shelf for the garden. James did a really good job and I did a grand job of styling it! We have since added lights so it all twinkles of a night. Looks and feels very cosy. Perfect spot to sit and read a book or have an early morning brew listening to the birds.

This little guy didn’t make it through lockdown. He was quite poorly and although they don’t live long, he lasted well over two years. Oreo was Henry’s and we kept saying we hoped he wouldn’t give up on his birthday, but the night before we found him and Henry was so upset. He is quite the animal lover and hates to think anything bad can happen to them. We ended up having a little burial in the garden. No more hamsters for us now though!
