Hello and welcome back to a new little loves round-up!

What a month! It’s been glorious weather which has made it more bearable. We have spent quite a bit of time in the garden this month making the most of the outdoor space. Still feels quite surreal we are unable to go out and see people but heading into another month of being in lockdown feels like the norm.

May saw me change the homeschooling routine, to fit better with my work schedule. It has worked out well and I feel less stressed about juggling it all.

Without too much waffling, here is my Little Loves for the month of May.

I have not picked up a book throughout the whole of lockdown. I see instagram posts of people making the most of their time and reading books on a weekly basis. It just has not happened for me.  I have compiled a wish list and hopefully with my birthday coming up in a few months I can get some that have been recommended.

Normal People (BBC iPlayer) – This was just so beautiful. I loved everything about it. I really didn’t want it to end. I had seen people reading the book on Instagram and heard good things about it so decided to head straight in before purchasing the book. I know book adaptions tend to stray off a bit but I really really enjoyed the series and I am hoping they come back for a second as I feel there is so much more to this love story.

Glow Up  (BBC) – I really do wish I had the skills of some of these make up artists! The program is basically a competition to be the next big MUA. I find it fascinating what people can create with make up and I can only wish I could blend out a shadow like the contestants!

Leopard Print – I love that its summer season and  I can now wear floaty skirts! I bought this skirt last year from Superdry and its one of my favourites to wear throughout the summer months. It hides a multitude of sins which is ideal!

Sandals – I have been wearing my new Palmaira sandals to death. I love the style and the print of them and I have had so many comments from strangers as to where I got them from. I have linked the site but I do believe they have sold of of this particular style. So glad I got them when I did! (note, not affiliated or sponsored, I just love them so much though I would share with you the site)

Lockdown Eases – Over the last few weeks the government have released snippets of hope as we try and get back to some kind of normality. Some I agree with, some I find baffles me slightly but I think its nice to hear those little bits of hope that the county can and will get back to some kind of normal once again. It will take time but hope is there.

To Build a Home – I adore this piece of music. It was on an advert I saw this month and it bought back how much I love it. Been played a lot on repeat throughout the month of May.

Mad Dashes to Catch the Ice-Cream Van – We have made some very last minute dashes the last few weeks to catch the ice cream van! It has been round daily and its nice to hear the twinkle of the chime getting ever so closer. I always fear we will miss it! Luckily we haven’t and the late afternoon treat has been very welcoming!

Plans – Henry’s birthday is next month and although normally we would have everybody round, this year is definitely going to be different. I have been trying to think how we can make his birthday special in lockdown and have been planning what we will do. I’m guessing it will be a Zoom call to family, maybe a takeaway (if we can get one) and then spending quality time together. I have promised, if he isn’t returning to school then he can have the day off from homeschooling!

We have spent most of May pottering around the garden. It has been such lovely weather, we have spruced it up and given it a clean. The wisteria that trails over our climbing frame had dropped all its leaves, which made the garden look a tad messy. We ended up buying a hoover to suck up all the leaves which has been a godsend. We have artificial grass so cleaning and sweeping it was a pretty arduous  task.

We also took a walk to the garden centre at the end of our road when it opened up. Bought some new flowers and bedding plants. Was nice to get out and do something normal!
