Hello! And welcome back to Little Loves post! This is rather late, mainly because I didn’t actually realise it was the last Friday of the month last week! The summer has literally flown by and it only feels like a few short weeks ago I was writing a July Little Loves!! It’s been a whirlwind month of holidays and work!

Apologies for the lack of photos this month, it’s been a strange month if I am honest and it seems I have no photos to share in this post! I am going to write a holiday post up hopefully this week and a room makeover but I have pictures on Instagram of my newly decorated lounge if you want to take a peek!

Without too much waffling here is August Little Loves.

Let’s skip this bit… I’m ashamed to say I’ve not picked anything up to read this month!

Jungle Cruise (VUE) – We made our first cinema trip in nearly two years! Wit was very surreal! The film was great, we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The Rock is so funny in it and plays the part really well. The whole experience was a little stressful, I pre-booked which was easy but then the bookings office decided to put everyone together rather than spaced apart!

The Queen & Adam Lambert Story (Netflix) – I watched this Monday night and I found it really interesting to see how they hand picked Adam to join the band on tour. Adam is exceptional, and has just a great voice. Had me singing along to some of the best Queen songs!

Virgin River (Netflix) – I think I watched season 3 over 2 days. I really enjoyed this season and it’s been left in a HUGE cliff hanger so I really hope it does get picked up again by Netflix! I am sure it will.

Ambulance (BBC) – I think every week I cry for one hour solid watching this. It’s most definitely a huge eye opener into what the emergency services had to deal with. Along with covid and just the general 999 calls. Episode two was really hard to watch. I think I may of actually hyperventilated cried for whisky watching it. Truly upsetting. We are so lucky to have the NHS!

I have very much reverted back to my favourite albums of 2020. Taylor swift Folklore and Evermore. They are both so calming and it’s spurred me to get a record player just so I can get them on vinyl! I have stuck it in my Christmas list! Definitely two of my top favourite albums of last year.

Some rather lovely silk pyjamas. I was gifted these and I’m a total silk pyjama convert! They are so soft and comfy! I’ve mainly been wearing them tucked under a blanket in the evening as the weather has turned a little chilly!

I purchased some new Joules slippers out of my leftover birthday money. Like the pyjamas they are the softest material ever and keep my feet toasty warm!

I have lived in my Vans this month. The weather has really turned (we were supposed to be getting a second wind of summer but not sure it got the memo!) sandals are well and truly away!

We made our lounge look more cosy! We had a really cold colour on the walls before and it just didn’t feel warm. Although we have painted it blue (chimney breast) it’s made the room feel extra cosy. It took us 6 hours to hang the wallpaper, it was a nightmare but I think it looks so much nicer. We still have bits to do, we need to get a lampshade and some finishing touches.

Can we also just take note of the fire surround. We made the decision to change it and it was by far the right thing to do! Was a huge bargain from Facebook Market place!

As of Thursday our summer holidays are officially over. Henry returns to school and Gracie returns on Monday. It will feel so strange them not being at home but I’ll be pleased if the routine again. I’ll be extremely anxious sending them back, hoping we don’t have any cases and we can just continue as normal but I am very doubtful the first term will go without any hiccups!

How are you feeling about you children heading back?

Hope you have a wonderful September!

I caught an episode of Ambulance last week and was also almost in tears as it took me back to when Dad was so poorly during the height of the pandemic and the tears flowed..,

I too need to start doing more reading, I just don’t have the time!

Ah no! I think this series of Ambulance hits home because it’s so fresh. Just seeing what they have to deal with is just heartbreaking. I have a book in my bedside table which I am determined to read this month!
