Hello! And welcome back to Little Loves post! 7 months of the year done and wow, what a year! This month has been glorious and we are now all set for a wonderful six weeks off school. Gracie actually finished mid July and henry has just completed his first full week off. It’s been wonderful being able to work from home and not have the stress of childcare to worry about! Perks of a flexible job!
One thing I did notice this month is the lacking of photos! I didn’t really take many photos at all, so this is a very photoless post!
Without too much waffling here is Julys Little Loves.
Henry came home with his school report the week before he finished and I could not read it fast enough. It was such a wonderful report, praising him and saying how proud they were of him for his effort this year. They said he was a kind, caring and conscious little boy who has worked so well in all these uncertain times. I always get so ready eyed when anything nice is said about the children because it puts everything into perspective and it’s telling me I am doing a good job!
We also found out his teacher for next year. It will be his last year in juniors. I am pleased with who he got, he has had this particular teacher before and Gracie also had her. I liked her and I hope she makes the last year special for him.
Olympics (BBC) – I am glued! I’m loving the olympics. I get to watch it from home which is a bonus. I have it playing in the back ground whilst working and I tend to spontaneously shout out or start to cry whenever we win. Tom Daley and Matty Lee were incredible and the women’s gymnastics teams were amazing. Gutted they focused more on the other teams so not much coverage but I watched all the highlights after!
World Cup Final (ITV) – I hate football, but I just had to watch the final. We made history by getting so far and I think the team did so so well. I was a nervous wreck and was thankful that my TV was slightly behind so I got to hear from the cheers or the shouts of no of how successful we were. Was such a good buzz though and such a shame we didn’t win. Just awful to wake up the next day to all the rubbish the team had to deal with.
Station 19 (Disney+) – This is a sister show to Greys Anatomy, my all time favourite program. It definitely better as the series goes on. If you like Greys I would recommend watching this too. They do a fair few cross overs which is always good!
I have continued to listen to classic Elton John!
I heard Miley Cyrus version of Without You with The Kid Laroi. It’s a bit sweary but Miley compliments it so much. Lastly I have been listening to Maneskin cover of Beggin. Hooked on both songs at the moment
July has been either scorching hot or a little on the chillier side. The heat was a bit unbearable so the cooler days were very much welcome! It’s been a mixture of dresses, shorts, jeans on rotation throughout the month.
I got some new PJs for my birthday, they are lovely and cool and are perfect for lazy days!
I didn’t make anything out the ordinary this month. Gracie did though she made me the most delicious birthday cake! I ask for chocolate and fruit and she delivered with the help of James. .
Last month we started decorating the lounge. We made the decision to rip the fire place out after we painted the chimney breast (stay with me!) basically the surround was wood and the hearth and back part of the fire was black marble. We had painted the chimney breast Hague Blue by Farrow and Ball so it looked really dark and the black and blue didn’t really go. So the fire and surround all came off!
We went on the hunt for a limestone fireplace and it actually would of cost us an absolute fortune so we decided against it, until I thought of Facebook Marketplace. We managed to bag ourself a Limestone fire surround for £60! It’s absolutely beautiful and it’s going to look amazing against The Hague Blue. We just have to attach it, which is more difficult than we thought! It weights an absolute ton as well!
I am double vaxxed!! July saw me go back to the health centre and get my second Covid Vaccine. I felt such a sense of relief when I walked out. I had no ill effects. Sore arm which lasted a day (1st dose was sore for about a week) I did feel a little spaced out the day after I had it done but I was able to get in with stuff still.
Have you been vaccinated?
Hope you have a wonderful August!
