LIFESTYLE LITTLE LOVES

LITTLE LOVES 2022 | JULY EDITION

July 29, 2022

July was a very busy month not just parenting, work was insane and I’m thankful for the six week break. I love my job, but the six weeks was a very happy welcome.

This month was the final month for Henry at junior school. It was a lovely last month full of celebrations. He spent the first week on transition and he seemed to get on really well. Made some new friends and I “think” he is looking forward to starting in September.

Without to much waffling here’s my little lives for July.

Read

I read 5 books throughout July!! I know – mind blowing! I’ve not picked a book up in so long but for my birthday I got the Heartstopper graphic novels and I read them with in 3 days. I’ve since bought Alice Osemans novels which I plan to start this week!

Watched

Love island had quite literally taken over my life. It’s definitely something that you have to invest in. Only a week left and it will all be over with. I have a long list of things to watch once it’s finished!

I watched Henry in his production this month. Year 6 put on a show and this year it was Peter Pan. He played one of Hooks pirates, and he did so well! I was really surprised at how confident he was. He had a few lines and also picked some up on the day so I was impressed at how quickly he learnt them.

I’ve also watched a whole host of leaver related things. I kind of knew most of what was going on considering I work in the school office and had to communicate times and dates out to parents BUT there were some things I wasn’t expecting and it really touched me. I shed a few tears and have some lovely memories from Henry’s last few weeks at school. Thankfully it’s not goodbye fully as I’m lucky to still have a job at the school – it’s going to be VERY strange not having my little side kick with me!

Heard

I managed to pick up a new vinyl this month. I’m a bit particular about what vinyls I get. I don’t go overboard with them so when I saw the Top Gun soundtrack I had to get it. There is something about the sound of a record.

Wore

It was my birthday this month so I treated myself to some new perfume. I’m in love with the Gucci Flora scent and it was top of my list to get. It’s so fresh and definitely has summer floral vibes. Also how pretty is the bottle?

Made

I finally managed to find a passion fruit Martini recipe. I’m not a big drinker but last year when I was away I tried a Passion Fruit Martini and quite frankly it became my new favourite drink. It’s taken me a year to find a recipe that I can do from home. I had my sister round for a pool day and I managed to make a couple for her.

I was bought the new limited edition Baileys this month as a thank you from my headteacher. I’m not keen on the original flavour but this tastes k it’s like strawberry milkshake! There was an Eton Mess recipe on the back so I just had to try it out! Definitely put a nice flavour to it! (I’ll add the recipe on a separate post!)

Lastly

We are heading away next month and I cannot wait. We are doing our usual week away to Center Parcs and then we booked a spontaneous trip to Weymouth in a shepherds hut. I’m looking forward to just spending time with the family and just turning my brain off.

How funny, I too have just purchased the four ‘Heartstopper’ books for my son following watching the first series on Netflix this week. It certainly looks as if you’ve made a good start to the summer, I too will enjoy the next six weeks – have fun!
