Wow.. June flew by! We are officially half way through the year and by gosh, where has it gone!

It’s been a really busy month, Henry had his SATs, he turned 11  and then a week long residential. It was a lovely to end the month on such a high – he had the best time and I missed him like crazy, was so glad to squeeze him in Friday!! We also bought a new pool. We’ve been after one for quite sometime. It needed to be a certain size to fit into the space we had in the garden. It finally came back in stock just in time for the heatwave!

Without too much waffling here are my little loves for June!

Love Island (ITV) – it’s back and it’s taken over my life! It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I really do enjoy it. It takes a lot of your time and you kind of invest yourself in all the relationships. It’s not the best series they have aired, but still very much enjoyable!

Orange is The New Black (Netflix) – I started watching this when it first aired. I think I managed about 5 seasons and the got a bit lost and didn’t finish it. I’ve restarted and I’m enjoying it. I think I lost my way when there was a prison riot, which ended at the end of a season and then it was just really slow after that season. I am hoping to stick with it!

Jubilee Celebrations – the jubilee weekend was full of some wonderful highlights. I had the TV on most of the day in the background. The Jubilee concert was really well put together.

I have now started playing the radio at work as a bit of background noise in the office. It’s nice to have a little sing song – the only downside is they play the same songs all the time so I feel like I know all the summer hits word for word!

I bought some new clothes this month. I saw a really pretty dress in store (M&S) but ended up walking away with a rather lovelier skirt. The dress was hot pink and it was a little out of my comfort zone so didn’t want to buy it and then never wear it. The skirt is lovely and I’ve worn it so many times already! Just no photos!

Henry turned 11 this month so as tradition I made him a cake. I went simple as he was really undecided on what he wanted. He loves Oreo biscuits so I managed to incorporate them. He didn’t expect it and it was a huge hit!

I made the best chilli this month! I’m not a huge fan of spice so normally I do a plain one as well. I decided to just make one and actually it was really nice. a little bit of heat and spice. I made it all from scratch which I was really pleased with. Definitely something I will make again. I served it with a jacket potato. I

As I mentioned earlier, Henry went on his week long residential. It was the first time he was away from me for longer than 24hrs and I was really worried how he would be. He was fine! Luckily I had first hand information as working at the school gave me the reassurance I was able to check in daily with everyone. If I didn’t work there it may have been a completely different scenario!

It’s another big month for Henry going forward. He has his induction this week at senior school. I’m more nervous about him doing this than the residential. He still seems so little. I am sure he will have the best time and meet lots of new people he will share the next stage of his school life with!

Wow, it’s all going on for Henry at the moment – so much transition for him but it’s all a learning curve and great fun. I have never watched Love Island but finished OITNB years back and loved every episode.
